Frequently Asked Questions

  • We estimate projects the way electricians build them.

Every estimate is developed from the full plan set - not templates - using real installation logic: conduit routing, homeruns, equipment placement, access constraints, and sequencing. We don’t just count symbols. We evaluate scope, constructability, and risk so bids reflect how the work will actually be performed in the field.

  • Accuracy comes from process, not promises.

Our estimates follow a structured workflow that includes:

    • Detailed quantity takeoffs

    • Cross-checking major systems

    • Clear documentation of assumptions and exclusions

    • Optional bid review prior to submission

No estimator is perfect. What matters is transparency. You will always know where numbers came from and what they are based on.

  • Yes.

We calibrate estimates to your company whenever possible. Your labor units, crew structure, installation preferences, and regional conditions. If historical data is available, we use it. If not, we apply conservative, defendable assumptions that can be adjusted before bid day.

Generic labor units cost contractors jobs. We don’t use them.

  • We are not a volume estimating service.

We focus exclusively on electrical work and operate with the same accountability mindset as an in-house estimator. Our role is to support your bidding strategy, not just deliver quantities. You can ask questions, challenge numbers, and expect clear answers.

Cheap estimating often becomes expensive when it costs a contractor:

    • A bid they should have won

    • A project they should not have taken

    • Credibility with a GC or owner

  • Addenda are tracked, isolated, and incorporated deliberately.

We identify what changed, where it impacts the estimate, and how it affects pricing. You will never receive unexplained revisions minutes before bid time.

  • All work is performed under strict confidentiality and, when required, mutual NDAs.

Your pricing, labor strategies, vendor relationships, and bid history are never shared or reused. Period.

  • That depends on your needs.

We work with contractors in three ways:

    • Full estimator replacement

    • Overflow support during heavy bid periods

    • Project-specific estimating support

Our service is designed to integrate into your existing process, not disrupt it.

  • Primarily:

    • Commercial

    • Tenant improvements

    • Ground-up

    • Design-bid-build

    • Public Work

    • Department of Defense Facilities

    • Airports

    • Healthcare

    • Steel Micro Mills

If a project falls outside our expertise, we will tell you upfront.

  • For some contractors, that makes sense.

For others, the cost, turnover risk, and downtime don’t. We provide senior-level estimating support without permanent overhead, allowing you to scale up or down as workload changes.
